Swim Team Starts Wednesday May 10th!

Team!

Can you believe we start swim team next week?!!  Our first practice is Wednesday, May 10th.  Click this link to see the times your swimmer(s) should be at the pool. This first practice will be a dry land practice so your swimmer should come in tennis shoes and socks to play games to meet and get to know the coaches.  If practice is canceled due to storms, we will re-schedule for Thursday, May 11th otherwise, Swimmers are expected to get in the pool on Monday, May 15th.

During your swimmer's practice, a parent should attend my parent info meeting.  This is a great time to get questions answered and hear about the upcoming season.  If you have multiple swimmers, I suggest only attending the first meeting of your swimmers' practices.  If you have only a Little Dolphin swimmer, you do not need to attend this meeting.

Equipment: Don't forget to dust off those suits and swim caps from last year.  If they are too small or if you are new to the swim team, make sure to go pick up a suit.  You will need to speak with the worker and tell them you are with the Saddle Creek Dolphins.  Our suits are in the back. Make sure to check the store hours!  Click the link below for information.  Little Dolphins do not need a specific swimsuit or swim cap unless they want one.

Swim Caps are available through our online team store. If you have purchased a swim cap through registration, see Summer or Alice Brackner to get your cap at practice. Information for parent spirit shirts will be sent out soon to pre-order.
Due to good registration numbers, we are closing registration earlier this year than posted if you have friends who have not registered.  We anticipate closing registration as early as Friday, May 12th.  Encourage your friends to go ahead and register!
Weather:  This is an outside sport so weather does impact our practices.  We try to alert ASAP.  Emails go out as well as soon as we have to make the call as the Swimtopia app may send out alerts.  I will remind parents to download the app once we start the season. We can practice in light rain without the presence of thunder and lightning.  We have had to cancel May pool practices when daily temps do not exceed over 70 degrees.  Practices cannot be made up as we have designated times that we can use the pool.
Hang in there through the May crazy end-of-the-school-year schedules!  Remember neighborhood summer swim team is a laid-back fun sport to be a part of, a great time to improve swim skills, and burn that end-of-the-year/summertime energy.
